Percussion Playground: A Global Rhythm Journey

Get ready to travel the world through sound! In this dynamic and playful percussion workshop, kids will go on an interactive musical journey across continents, exploring the beats, rhythms, and stories of different cultures.

Listen to exciting world music tracks inspired by traditional and folkloric rhythms from countries across Africa, South America, Asia, and more. With each rhythm, kids are encouraged to respond with movement and expression, learning how music reflects the stories and identities of people around the globe.

Using a rotating set of percussion instruments – including mini drums, shakers, tambourines and rhythm sticks – participants are encouraged to experiment with tempo, layering sounds, and creating their own rhythmic compositions inspired by what they’ve heard and learned.

This jam-packed session is not only fun and active, but also educational, encouraging kids to develop listening skills, coordination, teamwork, and an appreciation for different cultures.
